The ancient Sumerians believed that one god created all things visible and invisible. They referred to this one god as Anshar, meaning "whole heaven." The Babylonians equated Anshar with their local god Enlil. The Assyrians equaited Anshar with their local god Ashur, who was coupled with his consort Ishtar (also known as Ninlil and Mullissu), and co-ruled with his son, Ninurta. Ashur, Ishtar and Ninurta were worshipped as a divine trinity in the city of Nineveh. Ninurta was considered the son and earthly representative of the heavenly and invisible Ashur. It was to these Ninevites that the Hebrew God Yahweh sent his prophet Jonah to warn them of God's wrath and to make them fast, pray and repent for three days. The offspring of these ancient people, the Assyrians, readily embraced Christianity at the preaching of the Apostles, because the doctrines of Christianity, including monotheism, trinitarianism, the concept of the divine incarnation, and the practices of prayer, fasting and repentance were already believed and practiced by the Assyrians.

If not worn around the neck it can be used as a car pendant placed around the rear vision mirror.
